Michael Marcello, Owner and Head Chef of Cello's Catering, first realized his affinity and penchant for fine foods under the tutelage of Nick Mosca at Elmwood Plantation in 1977. After seven years at Elmwood, Michael joined his family's other restaurants, La Louisiane and Lenfants, and began developing his own cooking and management style.
Word began to spread of Michael's specialty--his signature catering style that begins with learning about the client's interests and tastes and results in a menu that reflects these personal choices in the most delectable fashion.
His talents in high demand, Michael decided to open his own kitchen. Cello's first opened its doors in Clearview Mall in 1985, and has been serving delicious poboys and hot lunches to faithful customers ever since. Michael expanded Cello's to include a catering menu in 1987, and partnered with his daughter, Victoria Marcello, to open their new location in Metairie in 2014.
Victoria excelled in business courses at Louisiana State University and graduated in 2013. Motivated to expand their family legacy, Michael and Victoria partnered to establish Cello’s current location on North Hullen Street in 2014.
Conveniently located in the heart of Metairie, Cello’s remains a staple in the local community. The new location allows the father-daughter pair to host a variety of special events for clients from business meetings to dinner parties and receptions.
